SHIPPING AS A GLOBAL BUSINESS

The volume of shipment has increased considerably over recent years. However, the revenue made by the shipping companies has hardly risen. Now more than ever these companies are making their money by using capacity more intensively and cutting operating costs.

Peters Shipyards are capitalizing on this by building low maintenance and optimally usable ships with a high salvage value. This means that with these ships the maintenance and depreciation are lower and the revenue higher than with comparable ships.

Shipping companies do not automatically choose Dutch shipyards to design and build their coasters and passenger ships. After all, modern man is a global shopper and wage costs are lower in Eastern Europe, for example, than in the Netherlands. Companies only choose a shipyard in their own country if the value added is higher than the price difference.

On this website Peters Shipyards will explain the nature of this value added. The "ship process", which covers the entire project from initial contact to delivery of the ship and technical maintenance, is the central aspect. This "ship process" is a dynamic process in which coordinated elements ensure optimum yield for the customer.

Besides the "ship process" this website will also outline where we stand as Peters Shipyards. Here you will find details of our values and origins as well as the developments that our shipyard has undergone over the past few years.
